Highlands Community League Day - 2011

All across the city, communities celebrated Community League Day on Sept. 17, but none better than Highlands. The Highlands Community League hosted a family oriented event and encouraged community residents to come out and share in the spirit of community.

The following local businesses generously sponsored the Highlands Community League Day event and we are very grateful for their assistance! Highlands Kitchen, Mandolin Books & Coffee Company, and Brian Mason. We also thank the Edmonton Public Library, St. Mary's Anglican Church, Highlands United Church and Eastglen High School for their participation.

An Old Fashion Day of Fun - In the tradition of an early fall gatherings of yesteryear, the community enjoyed a roast beef supper, with corn on the cob and salad with all the fixings. As well as, pumpkin and apple pie served with whipped cream and a nice cup of coffee.

Highlands Culinary Contest Winners - Wearing the Ribbons of Honour are Boyd England - 1st place, apple pie contest, Tina Baker - 2nd place, apple pie contest and Murray Hoke - 1st place, tomatoes.
