Memorial Planting- 2011

In the spring of 2011, Teacher Carol and her students from the Highlands Nursery School planted flowers in the Children's Garden in tribute to Trooper Michael Yuki Hayakaze, a past Highlands Nursery student. The memorial marker and garden were installed at the Highlands Park in 2010 for Trooper Hayakaze, who was killed in Afghanistan on March 2, 2008.
